Comcast is seeking a skilled and dedicated (Python) Software Development Engineer to support the design and development of software applications, guide the team in development efforts, and drive successful delivery. These applications build various solutions for device management across a large-scale network, serving millions of devices in video and broadband services. Comcast offers an advanced and highly integrated development environment that utilizes industry-standard tools to support a fast-moving, agile development cycle. Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

Platform Development Engineer, you would:

• Develop backend solutions using Python for data engineering and automation.

• Develop and maintain frontend applications using frameworks like React or Angular for user-facing solutions.

• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation across MySQL and Document DB.

• Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Athena, RedShift, EventBridge, Step Functions, and API Gateway to build cloud-based solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver data-driven solutions.

• Support the integration of data processing tools and platforms, ensuring efficient data flow and management.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of dashboards and visualizations using QuickSight, Grafana, or Kibana.

• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.

• Participate in code reviews, adhering to best practices in software engineering.

• Support the development and integration of data-driven solutions with existing systems.

• Develop applications using Java for performance-critical tasks, ensuring scalable, robust, and secure solutions.

Requirements:

Key requirements and experience include:

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in software development and data engineering.

• Strong experience with Python for data engineering and automation.

• Experience with Java for application development, focusing on high-performance solutions.

• Experience with front-end development using React, Angular, or similar frameworks.

• Solid SQL skills, with experience working with MySQL and Document DB.

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including RedShift, Athena, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, and API Gateway.

• Familiarity with data visualization and monitoring tools like QuickSight, Grafana, and Kibana.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and best practices.

• Experience in using version control systems like Git.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.
