Development Engineer 2
Job Summary
Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Edits new and existing applications. Implements, testing and debugging defined software components. Documents all development activity. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Design modules according to user stories and UX/UI designs
Support to Develop High Level Design
Develop Low Level Design
Develop solutions according to module designs and deploy using delivery pipeline
Develop and execute unit tests to test software modules against acceptance criteria
Conduct peer reviews to ensure quality and adherence to defined coding standards
Create supporting functional and non-functional documentation
Manage technical debt as part of daily activities
Manage incidents as level two support
Manage problems as level two support
Suggest improvements to user stories and UX/UI
Functional & Technical / Skills
Strong proficiency in one or more coding languages, including Salesforce Apex (required)
Experience with development on Salesforce Platform, both Lightning (must to have) and Classic (nice to have)
Experience with development on Vlocity Platform, Vlocity OM (must to have) and Vlocity CPQ (nice to have)
Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices with Salesforce Platform
Understanding of software development lifecycles
Strong ability to understand context for code, the codebase, and its relation to business objectives
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Expertise in multiple programming and markup languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, SQL, XML, JSON, YAML, and Python
Competent working with cloud-native architectures, including public cloud PaaS / IaaS, micro-services architectures, APIs
Growth mindset and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks
Behaviours & Competencies
Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with high-levels of creativity
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with both technical and business audiences
Excellent relationship building, teamwork, and collaboration skills that enables the provision of effective support and guidance across multiple teams
Understanding of both the current Telecommunications and digital services market and emerging business and technology trends
Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies, solutions and processes, with natural intellectual curiosity and integrity
Strong time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple balls
Experience supporting Salesforce software packages
Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices is mandatory
Experience with agile development methodologies.
Experience with relational databases (e.g. Postgresql)
Experience developing for multiple operating systems
Experience in building APIs for both internal and external products
