Development Engineer 2 - Workday Integration Developer
Job Summary
Collaborates with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs. Designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications. Assists with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases. Participates in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications. Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals and formal recommendations and reports. Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Perform Quality Assurance to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements. Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty. Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Job Description
Required Skills:
- Must have 2+ years of relevant Workday Integrations experience.
- Integration Expertise:
Possess an in-depth understanding of various Workday integration tools, including:
- Workday Studio: Develop custom integrations using Workday Studio.
- Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB): Configure and manage data transfers between Workday and external systems.
- Core Connector: Establish real-time connections with third-party applications.
- Calculated Fields: Design custom fields to enhance data transformations.
- Solid understanding of REST and SOAP APIs
- Comfortable with XML XPATH XSLT and Json
- Experience and understanding of Prism and Workday Extend is plus.
Integration Architecture:
- Architect and design Workday integrations for different use cases and integration methods.
- Understand the nuances of inbound and outbound integrations, batch processing, and real-time data synchronization.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security in integration solutions.
- Release Coordination:
- Coordinate Workday system releases by assessing the impact on existing integrations and work with development team and Business partner to perform regression testing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute integration-related tasks during system upgrades.
- Documentation and Review:
- Maintain integration design documents that capture technical specifications, mappings, and workflows.
- Perform regular reviews to validate integration configurations and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with the Development team to finalize Workday Integration design documents and coordinate development effort throughout the development Lifecyle..
- Engage with Business stakeholders to understand requirements and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Facilitate smooth deployment of integrations into production.
- Hands on experience in E2E troubleshooting issues
- Should have good understanding of Workday Security
- Grounded experience in both data and application integrations between on-prem to Cloud, Cloud-to-Cloud and on-prem-to-on-prem platforms.
- Experience in agile development methodologies, e.g. Scrum, Kanban
- Workday Certification & Experience in HCM is preferable
- Good communicator, ability to analyze complex issues E2E and clearly articulate both issues and technologies.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting business requirements into quality code.
