Quality & Automation Engineer 2
Job Summary
Responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the code base. Focuses on writing code that will be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion which will reduce manual testing efforts and increase code quality and consistency. Develops and maintains code that validates front-end, middleware and database systems, using the latest tools and programming languages. Partners with software engineers to write efficient automation code using coding standards and best practices. Works with engineering team to deliver automated tests that satisfy product automation requirements. Executes automated code and creates written summary test reports for team. Repair intermediate complexity broken automation scripts. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.Job Description
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintainautomated test scripts and frameworks for mobile native applications (iOS and/or Android), utilizingvarious libraries, APIs, and platforms.
Develop and maintain test cases based on requirements, user stories, and technical specifications. Ensure that test cases cover all aspects of the functionality and edge cases.
Execute automated and manual tests to verify the functionality, performance, and reliability of the application. Monitor test results and analyze failures to identify issues.
Identify, document, and report defects and issues found during testing. Collaborate with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot bugs.
Work closely with developers and product managers to understand the application’s architecture and functionality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that testing aligns with overall project goals and deadlines.
Participate in code reviews and design discussions to provide input on testability and quality.
Collaborate with other engineers acrossproducts and domains to continually improve our testing strategies, tooling, standards, and practices at Connected Living.
Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills desired to overcome unexpected project changes.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
2+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
Experience writing code to automate tests for mobile applications using Native Automation Frameworks such as XCUI, Espresso and KIF.
Understanding of CI/CD principles, with strong analytical skills to assess and optimize workflows and processes.
Experience in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle and QA Life Cycle and in all dimensions of Functionality, Usability & Reliability.wor
Test Management and Bug Tracking Tools: Experience with JIRA, Octane or equivalent tools.
Experience in debugging tools such as ProxyMan, Charles Proxy or similar
Experience performing manual testing where automation cannot be achieved.
Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an SDET role.
Has excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills to convey complex technical solutions clearly to an organization.
Experience in working in agile software development environments
Interested in growing a strong engineering culture that values diversity and inclusion.

Preferred skills:
Understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
DevOps Native App build experience (CocoaPods, SwiftPM, Fastlane, Gradle, Github Actions)
Knowledge of Maestro UI mobile testing or comparable framework
