Responsibilities:
Data Forensics & Investigation
- Lead complex data investigations across multiple Comcast data pipelines to identify anomalies, gaps, and integrity issues.
- Reconstruct end‑to‑end event timelines (ingestion → transformation → consumption) to support internal inquiries, data audits, adherence to Comcast data management standards, and leadership escalations.
- Develop SQL and Python‑based detection logic to identify potential fraud indicators, account misuse, billing leakage, improper data access, and other high‑risk anomalies.
- Validate data against Comcast standards—including naming conventions, lineage, PII handling, SLAs, and retention policies—and document deviations with evidence‑based findings.
Data Quality & Governance
- Establish and maintain core data governance practices, including stewardship, metadata management, lineage mapping, Critical Data Element (CDE) standards, responsible data usage, and master data management across multiple domains.
- Translate investigation outcomes into preventive controls such as validation rules, reconciliation checks, ID standardization, late‑data handling, and backfill/retry patterns.
- Recommend, track, and verify remediation for systemic data quality issues (e.g., missing dedup keys, inconsistent identifiers, timestamp mismatches).
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Root‑Cause Resolution
- Partner with Data Engineering, Infrastructure/Platform, Product Analytics, Customer & Billing, Network/Field Ops, Care, and Mobile data teams to validate findings and implement durable root‑cause fixes.
- Serve as the forensic SME during incident reviews and post‑incident processes, ensuring corrective actions are measurable, time‑bound, and fully executed.
- Design and maintain repeatable incident‑management and data‑issue playbooks to drive consistent operational response.
Communication, Reporting & Leadership Support
- Deliver clear, executive‑ready storytelling that summarizes the problem statement, impacted metrics or entities, financial/operational impact, and recommended path to resolution.
- Create dashboards or visualizations to detect emerging issues, monitor data quality improvements, and communicate trends across stakeholders.
Tools & Technical Execution
- Use SQL across warehouse and data lake environments, Python for anomaly detection and automation, and visualization tools for analytical reporting and monitoring.
Professional Expectations
- Demonstrate strong independent judgment, discretion, and ownership on high‑impact data issues.
- Apply project‑management skills to prioritize investigations, manage timelines, and coordinate cross‑functional actions.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; able to work nights/weekends or variable schedules as needed for incident support.
