This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.

Organization & TeamOverview

Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform on a variety of branded 4K streaming devices and smart TVs. Powered by Comcast’s global technology platform, Xumo devices and services feature an entertainment experience designed to make it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content through a world-class user interface and voice search, and for partners to meaningfully connect and engage with millions of consumers.

Our engineering team develop our free ad-supported service that currently delivers more than 200 unique streaming channels and features hundreds of free content choices on our own Xumo platform as well as leading streaming platforms such as YouTube, Amazon, Apple, Google, Roku and smart TV manufacturers such as Samsung, Vizio, LG, Sony.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Working with team leads to identify product and technical requirements.

• Research and development on assigned topic and present findings and designs.

• Working with other team members to designs new software and web applications, supports applications under development and customizes current applications.

• Participate in code review and provide feedback.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PreferredSkills

• Familiarity in common software development languages 

• Understanding front end and backend web application architecture

• Understanding cloud development and architecture

• Be comfortable doing independent research and development and present your finding and designs to the team and senior leaderships

• Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

• Recent degree or current enrollment in a graduate computer science or computer engineering program with high GPA

• Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)

• Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025

• Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

• Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
