Responsible for assisting with research, development, planning, design, maintenance and implementation of policies and programs that enhance the organization's relations with the community, the public, governmental and regulatory authorities, shareholders and employees. Responsible for managing the Company's franchising and compliance responsibilities in New Mexico and Arizona. Reviews, coordinates and interprets legal documents, such as franchises and any other franchise-related agreements and contracts entered into, for the purpose of compliance and conformity to Company standards and requirements. Implements activities designed to build relationships with elected officials and community organizations. Has accountability for managing financial resources. Provides subject matter guidance to employees. Develops process and procedures to implement functional strategies.
-Manages franchise renewal and transfer efforts for assigned franchises consistent with the strategies and policies for the market area.
-Supports the government relations and public policy strategy as developed for the market.
-Identifies important municipal issues of significance to the company. Monitors local regulatory activity and advises senior management on potential impact and necessary compliance actions.
-Travels to attend meetings, hearings, or other events to represent the company.
-Coordinates and manages special event logistics, provides staff support before, during and after the event.
-Prepares and maintains regular reports regarding External Affairs outreach and initiatives
-Coordinates the distribution of the organization's messages through presentations, news or trade media contacts, special events, public speaking, or other means to reach defined audiences and meet specific program objectives.
-Manages and leads a team that develops, manages, and implements the organization's Corporate Affairs strategies and policies.
-Coordinates and supervises corporate affairs activities/projects that enhances the organization's relations.
-Acts as a liaison with the community, the public, governmental and regulatory authorities, shareholders, and employees to ensure goals are met in an efficient and timely manner.
-Implements internal public affairs tracking system to measure effectiveness of initiatives.
-Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
-Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
-Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
-Communications / Public Relations, Business
-Generally requires 6-9 years related experience
-In-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience communicating via digital platforms
-Takes initiative on work product; prioritizes projects and assignments based on strategic goals
-Strong organizational, project management and planning skills
-Proficient in the utilization of all Microsoft Office Suite programs, including, but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
